New Detroit's Annual "Closing The Gap" Awards Celebrates Achievements in Race Relations

On Tuesday, June 19, New Detroit will hold its annual Closing The Gap Awards, which honors individuals, organizations and corporations who have made a positive difference in race relations in Detroit. Craig speaks with New Detroit Executive Director Shirley Stancato and Executive Director of InsideOut Literacy Arts Terry Blackhawk, whose organization will be receiving one of the awards. They discuss this years award recipients and the state of race relations in Detroit.
