Neal Rubin: Miles Kimball On A "Federal Credit Card"

Wednesday July 25, 2012

Guest Host Neal Rubin speaks with University of Michigan Economics Professor Miles Kimball about his idea to create a "federal credit card." Outlined in an article in The Nation, Kimball's idea would allow each person to borrow $2,000 at a low interest rate and not pay it back until the economy has fully recovered. Also, Kimball proposed that the Federal Reserve would finance the loans, keeping them out of the federal budget. They discuss the proposal and how it could help bring the country out of it's economic slump.
