Martin Vecchio, a 27 year-old aspiring cyclist put more than 32,000 miles on his car in the last year, driving all around the country to compete with the nation's best bike racers. He races for Lathrup Industries, and since March 31, he's raced two to three times a weekend, every weekend.
This weekend, he'll race 12 times in three days at the International Three Day race at the International Velodrome at Bloomer Park in Rochester Hills.
Vecchio says competing in these races are the stepping stones to going pro.
The International 3 Day Race goes down at Bloomer Park, 345 John R., Rochester Hills. Friday night races start at 7:30pm, Saturday races start at 7:30 p.m., then Sunday at 1:30 p.m. $5 for adults and $5 for parking.
