MSHDA Touts Historic Preservation Credits to Detroit

Photo: mlive.com Federal Historic Preservation Tax Credits have helped transform Downtown landmarks like Grand Circus Park, but could more investment be coming to a neighborhood near you? As a follow up to then- U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar's January 2013 visit to Detroit, The National Park Service and the State Historic Preservation Office will hold a free workshop about the program and eligibility requirements.

Between 2000 and 2013, 207 tax credit projects totaling $696 million of investment were completed in Detroit.

The workshop for owners of historic commercial properties takes place Wednesday, September 11, 2013, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., in the Michigan State Housing Development Authority Southeast Michigan Office, Cadillac Place, 3018 W.
