How are Vietnam vets shaping U.S. foreign policy?

Craig talks with Distinguished Professor of History Emeritus at WSU, Dr. Melvin Small, and Hoover Institute Senior Fellow Dr. Fouad Ajami about Vietnam veterans Chuck Hagel, nominated Secretary of Defense; John Kerry, newly appointed Secretary of State; and John McCain, senior Senator of Arizona.

Dr. Melvin Small discusses what these veterans may have experienced during their service and upon their return. Dr. Small taught at WSU for over 45 years and has written an edited over 15 books, including The Presidency of Richard Nixon and Antiwarriors.

Dr. Fouad Ajami shares his perspective on foreign policy, captured in his recent Washington Post article: "In Vietnam vets Hagel and Kerry, Obama finds champions of retrenchment." Dr. Ajami is a MacArthur Fellowship winning, Lebanese-born American university professor and writer on Middle Eastern issues. He is currently a senior fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution.
