Focus: HOPE -- an organization dedicated to solutions for hunger, economic disparity, inadequate education, and racial divisiveness -- says that they are in the process of creating a program to achieve permanent, transformative change in their surrounding neighborhood (around Linwood Ave in northwest Detroit).
Some of the highlights of their plan include:
-Doubling the number of students enrolled in their education and job training programs from what is was during the previous 5-year period.
-Returning $500 million to the community over a 10-year period in the form of wages and reduction of social safety net support from taxpayers as a result of their 5-year workforce training initiative.
-Continuing to foster development and cause permanent transformative change in HOPE Village, the 100-block neighborhood that surrounds our campus.
