After economists at Michigan’s 2009 revenue estimating conference connected the faltering economy to the loss of the auto industry, lawmakers and Governor Granholm called for economic diversification. While Governor Synder and his administration have continued efforts to diversify the state’s economy, economists at last week’s revenue estimating conference cited a small windfall in tax revenue to rebounding auto sales.
Craig speaks with MLive economy and business writer Rick Haglund and Michigan State University Economist and Professor of Economics Charlie Ballard about Michigan’s economic diversification efforts now that the auto industry is bouncing back.
