Newly Appointed EAA Interim Chancellor On Her Plans For 15 Schools

Thursday, June 19, 2014

Michigan’s Education Achievement Authority or EAA has named a new Interim Chancellor after the resignation of John Covington, who held the position for two years. The EAA is a state supported organization that is responsible for the oversight of 15 of Detroit’s lowest performing schools. Originally the EAA was intended to cover failing schools across Michigan but the legislature has failed to make that happen. This week Veronica Conforme has been appointed as Interim Chancellor. Craig speaks with her about her observations and plans. Conforme says she intends to be in the 15 schools and in the surrounding communities and those schools need parents who believe in the changes and want to tell other parents about the good things happening.
