Detroit to Fight 'Obscene' and 'Possibly-Illegal' Auto Insurance Rates

Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014

Last night, Mayor Duggan gave Detroit's State of the City address. Here's his address in a nut-shell.

Executive Director of Detroit Future City Ken Cockrel Jr. and newly-appointed Corporation Counsel for the City of Detroit Butch Hollowell are in studio to comment on Duggan's plans for auto insurance, blight and parks.

There's talk of a potential Detroit insurer, by the name of "D-Insurance," that would make auto insurance more accessible and affordable.

Cockrel, Detroit's former mayor, called auto insurance rates "obscene," and Hollowell said the Duggan administration is after the "biggest amount of impact in shortest period of time."
