After years of staggering crime rates, several clergy members and law enforcement agents are organizing walks through neighborhoods on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 11 am to call for a CEASE FIRE and ask clergy and lay people to join them in the launch of Detroit Night Walks. The idea stems from a 1990s initiative called the Boston TenPoint Coalition (BTPC) that helped reduce crime by 61.2% from 1990 to 1996.
