Just Two Signatures Needed to Award $65 Million in State Funds

Monday, June 9, 2014

More than $65 million state dollars have been awarded to businesses since 2011 with only two people signing off on them.

Chris Gautz, Capitol Reporter for Crain's Detroit Business, explains the "delegated authority" expedited approval process and what it means for passing out state money.

"Businesses have been awarded 129 projects under delegated authority since 2011, compared with 89 projects approved in public meetings by the Michigan Strategic Fund board," says Gautz in his article.
