Buena Vista School District Can't Pay Teachers

The Buena Vista School District has not held classes since last Friday. District funding has been put on hold because it accepted money for a juvenile detention program that was cancelled. The district near Saginaw, services roughly 400 students. A neighboring district has offered to take in the students, but for now, the schools have been shuttered. Craig speaks with former State Schools Superintendent Tom Watkins about the latest district to take extreme measures in the face of a financial crisis; Watkins warned the state about impending crises in a 2004 report.
