The auto industry is in the middle of a great come back, however, production may be forced to come to to a screeching halt on some key products in the coming months. After surviving bankruptcy and a recession it appears auto makers like GM, Ford, and Chrysler are facing a whole new problem, a shortage of parts. A surge in pick-up sales, much greater than expected, has made it nearly impossible for parts suppliers to keep up with demand. Adding shifts and increasing over-time are some methods being used to combat the needs, but it still might not be enough. GM and Ford have even sent their own engineers to suppliers in an attempt to help resolve the issue.
