Madonna University professor Mary Minock's new memoir,"The Way-Back Room: A Memoir of a Detroit Childhood," paints a portrait of a child and a community, southwest Detroit, wrestling with great change during the 1950s and the1960s. The book, published by Bottom Dog Press, Inc., an independent Ohio publisher, is set on Clark Street, "against the blue-collar grit and texture of multi-ethnic, pre-Vatican II, southwest Detroit.''
Mincok has a few upcoming readings scheduled around Metro Detroit: November 30th, 3:30-5PM. Madonna University's Franciscan Center; December 11th, 2-4 PM. at the Scarab Club, 217 Farnsworth, Detroit 48202. Learn more about the book at Bottom Dog Press.
