Andy Buchsbaum on the EPA's New Ballast Water Regulations

Last week, the Environmental Protection Agency proposed new regulations for ballast water emissions. Ballast water--used by ships in order to keep the vessel balanced and stable--is thought to have contributed to the introduction of invasive species to the Great Lakes Region. While the new regulations have the support of the shipping industry throughout the Great Lakes region, some environmental groups feel the regulations do not go far enough. Joining Craig to discuss the new regulations is Andy Buchsbaum--Regional Executive Director of the National Wildlife Federation's Great Lakes Natural Resources Center.
