Amendments to Immigration Bill Limits Raids on Churches and Schools

The Senate Judiciary Committee is in the midst of considering amendments to the U.S. Immigration Reform bill. Amendments proposed by Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Chris Coons (D-DE) would limit the circumstances under which Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents could conduct raids at schools, churches, and hospitals.

WDET's Martina Guzman speaks to Ryan Bates, Director of Michigan United, an immigrant rights group. They discuss how amendments to the bill would protect immigrant communities from a climate of fear.
