A Wayne County Circuit Court judge heard arguments yesterday on the ACLU of Michigan's class-action lawsuit against the State of Michigan and the Highland Park School District(HPSD). The ACLU is suing the State and the HPSD for failing to ensure that students are reading up to grade level, as it's defined by state law and the Constitution. Craig speaks with Kary Moss, Executive Director of the ACLU Michigan, and Margaret Williamson, CEO of ProLiteracy Detroit, about the lawsuit and ProLiteracy's search for volunteer literacy tutors.
