As Goes Detroit, So Goes Michigan? Detroit Bankruptcy goes to Lansing

WDET's Bankruptcy Reporter Sandra Svoboda sits down with Craig to give an update on the week in Detroit bankruptcy. Svoboda blogs and oversees WDET's website devoted to all things bankruptcy, Next Chapter Detroit.

Today, Bankruptcy Court Judge Rhodes is listening to bond insurer attorneys request to have artwork taken off the walls at the DIA in order to appraise them.

Earlier in the week, Kevyn Orr spoke to the State Legislature and implored them to take action on providing the funds needed for The Grand Bargain.

An 11th bill was added this week to the package of legislation that provides funding and conditions to Detroit to help the city restructure debt and exit bankruptcy.

The special House Committee on Detroit’s Recovery and Michigan’s Future heard testimony Thursday about the package of bills that would provide money and oversight to Detroit as it emerges from bankruptcy.
