Craig sits down with Jay Kaplan, ACLU of Michigan LGBT Project staff attorney, to discuss the supreme court cases against the Defense of Marriage Act and its impact in Michigan.
On Thursday, March 7th, Judge Friedman postponed a decision to overturn Michigan's ban on gay marriage and adoption by gay couples. According to Detroit News, Friedmann will wait to announce his decision until summer, when the U.S. Supreme Court decides two other federal cases challenging the Defense of Marriage Act.
March 8th, 42nd president Bill Clinton wrote an Opinion piece for the Washington post entitled, "It’s time to overturn DOMA."
