Detroit Bankruptcy This Week: Emergency Manager Law Challenged in Court

It’s a busy time for the bankruptcy. Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr went to Lansing trying to convince lawmakers Detroit deserves some funding. A hearing is tentatively scheduled for Monday on the city’s latest plan on how it will pay off debts and operate after bankruptcy. A federal judge held a hearing this week on whether to allow a lawsuit to proceed that challenges the constitutionality of Michigan’s emergency manager law. WDET’s Bankruptcy reporter Sandra Svoboda joined Craig in the studio to give updates on all the happenings.
