The new 11th Congressional District is wide open after Republican Congressman Thaddeus McCotter resigned in July. Democratic candidate Doctor Syed Taj says he thinks the district is ready to elect a more liberal candidate. But many political insiders say Republican candidate Kerry Bentivolio is the favorite to win. As WDET’s Laura Weber-Davis reports… Bentivolio is working to craft an image as a man of the people in southeast Michigan… an effort that has not always hit the mark.
