Michigan-Based All-Female Race Team ‘Grace’ Driving Towards Indy 500

Michigan-based Grace Autosport is developing an all-female race team targeting Indycar and sports car series.

Auto racers are preparing for one of the biggest events in the sport, this weekend’s Indianapolis 500, featuring many of the same cars that will be on Belle Isle a week later for the Detroit Grand Prix.

But there’s buzz building about a race team that is not even ready for the starting line yet.

Metro Detroit-based Grace Autosport is designed to be the first all-female racing team.

Team principal Beth Paretta says Grace will showcase what talented women can achieve in a profession dominated by men.

Paretta tells WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter the team, and the dream, almost came together last year.
