Star Trek, Big Bang Theory’s Wheaton Beams Into Motor City Comic Con

Wil Wheaton of Star Trek:TNG and Big Bang fame says events like the Motor City Comic Con helped shape his life.

Some television characters are not treated very well by fans, critics or, at times, even the scripts written for their own show.

Such was the case with young Ensign Wesley Crusher of “Star Trek: The Next Generation”.

But the actor who portrayed Crusher, Wil Wheaton, rose far above the catcalls.

Wheaton has become, among other things, an author, an internet game host and a recurring guest star playing a fictional version of himself on the popular CBS situation comedy, “The Big Bang Theory.”

Now Wheaton is coming to Metro Detroit for this weekend’s Motor City Comic Con.

He tells WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter it feels a bit like he is coming home.
