Detroit Cracks Down on Stripping and Stripping

Police prioritizing enforcement of metal scrapping law and illicit behaviors outside strip clubs

“We’ve taken a strict policy on OTE’s, the offering to engage, where we have people coming into the city,  and attempting to buy the services of a prostitute. So we have a decoy operation that goes on” 

Law enforcement officials in Detroit are cracking down on business owners who deal with two distinct types of stripping.

Officials say the impacts from both metal stripping and strip clubs diminish quality of life for neighborhoods.

Douglas Brown is the Chief of Criminal Enforcement and Quality of Life for the City of Detroit.

He tells WDET’s Amy Miller that Detroit police are the key to getting a handle on both kinds of stripping
