UAW-Ford Hosts Resource Fair for Women

The union is hosting the fair as part of Women’s History Month.

UAW-Ford is hosting a Detroit resource fair for women on Saturday.

The “Celebrating and Empowering Women” Expo will provide opportunities for the community to gain access to wellness and finance experts, small business seminars, and self-defense training.

Alfonso Cash is with the union’s Diversity and Inclusion team. He says UAW-Ford wanted to make sure that women get the help and recognition they deserve.

“Some women sometimes go unnoticed in seamless thankless roles. Women are juggling motherhood, womanhood, marriage single parenting and everything in between. So in these lives and times, we just want to send a beacon of encouragement to keep them pushing forward,” Cash says.

The expo will be held at the UAW-Ford National Programs Center on Jefferson. It’s free to the public.
