The ‘Hip In Detroit 5 Year Bash’ promises a party with prime talent and prizes.

Hip in Detroit Co-Founder Sadie Quagliotto

The blog Hip in Detroit has been a regional resource for finding out about cool shows, events, and people for the last five years. It’s the passion project of life-long friends Christie Laabs and Sadie Quagliotto.

This weekend, the ladies are throwing an impressive anniversary party to mark the occasion with a truly diverse set of bands, such as Queen Kwong,  Against The Grain and James Linck. Plus, there’s a slew of cool prizes you can win if you party. You’ll hear about all that good stuff when ya listen.

WDET’s Travis Wright speaks with Sadie Quagliotto about why this blog was started in the first place, and what the plans are to continue to serve and grow an audience.

The interview ends with a song called “What Up?” by artist James Linck from his 2015 EP “Small World.”
