Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel delivered his annual State of the County address Wednesday evening.

Hackel spoke to an invitation-only crowd at Macomb County Community College.  It was his sixth such address.

During his remarks, he touted the county’s Green Macomb initiative to cultivate green spaces with community-specific strategies.  He also spoke of a redesign of the county’s website, cited six straight years of balanced budgets, and celebrated the placement of Selfridge Air National Guard Base on a short list of possible facilities to support the new F-35 fighter jet.

Hackel is the first person to hold the position of Macomb County Executive.  He was first elected to the job in 2010.
