This year marks the 90th anniversary of America’s Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit.

This year’s display includes eight new floats and celebrity appearances from performers Mike Posner, Martha Reeves and others.

Comedian and Detroit Native Keegan-Michael Key is a co-marshal for this year’s event along with Judge Damon Keith.

Parade Company CEO and President Tony Michaels says the city has a unique Thanksgiving celebration.

“We also put on, the Strategic Staffing Solutions’ Turkey Trot. So, when you think of everything going on in Detroit — from the Turkey Trot to the parade, and then the Lions happen to have a football game — not sure that there is a city in the country that has a Thanksgiving like we have here in Detroit,” Michaels says.

The Thanksgiving Day parade kicks off at 9:00 am at Kirby and Woodward.

The event is broadcast in 173 cities across the country.
