The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office is increasing patrols over Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Sheriff Anthony Wickersham says deputies will be looking for traffic violations and impaired driving.

Wickersham says his department won’t be the only law enforcement agency on the road.

“I know as part of a grant from the Office of Highway and Safety Planning, other law enforcement agencies here in Macomb County will also have additional patrols out looking for intoxicated drivers,” he says.

Wickersham says the entire traffic department will be patrolling areas including northern Macomb County, Mount Clemens, Harrison Township, and Macomb Township.
