Banged-up Lions Face Test Against Division Rival Packers

The Detroit Lions go for 2nd win of year vs. struggling Green Bay offense. Lions hurting at linebacker and running back.

The Detroit Lions try to return to the win column this weekend when the team takes on the division rival Green Bay Packers.

Detroit heads to the not-yet frozen tundra of Lambeau Field to face a Green Bay team that is uncharacteristically struggling on offense.

But the Lions are banged up on both sides of the ball, especially at linebacker and running back.

The Jim Bob Cooter-orchestrated Detroit offense may not miss much of a beat by relying on premiere pass-catching back Theo Riddick to run the ball as well.

But with few healthy linebackers Detroit’s defense may be hard-pressed to stop Green Bay’s running backs Eddie Lacy and James Starks combined with tight ends Jared Cook and Richard Rodgers.

Detroit’s already allowed tight ends to catch four touchdowns in two games.
