Missing in Michigan Offers Support for Missing Loved Ones’ Families
MSP is asking families and friends with missing loved ones to help close the case.
The Michigan State Police’s “Missing in Michigan” day takes place Saturday in Detroit. The event is an effort to bring together families who have missing loved ones for support and a chance to offer information to help close the case.
Crystal Williams’ brother went missing 11 years ago and she has been attending “Missing in Michigan” for the last three years. She says the family hour before the event has been especially helpful.
“Being able to go to the round table meetings in the morning, which is mainly family and friends of the missing loved one. And we are able to go and share our stories and talk to others that understand what we are going through.” Williams says.
Families and friends can also provide DNA samples, dental records and fingerprints to update missing persons’ files. The event starts at one P-M Saturday at the Detroit Public Safety Headquarters.
