Michigan lawmakers are considering legislation that would, over time, significantly reduce the authority of local historic district commissions. Opponents of the legislation say the bills would have far-reaching impacts on Michigan’s historic resources. WDET’s Amy Miller spoke with Andrea Brown; Executive Director of the Michigan Chapter of the American Planning Association. She says it’s not clear who lobbied for the bills which were introduced by a group of Republican lawmakers.
