MSU at OSU: Spartans Seek Win, Respect

Saturday’s game in Columbus could determine B1G East champion.

The winner of Saturday‘s college football game between Michigan State and Ohio State will have the inside track to win the Big Ten’s East division and play for the conference championship on December 5. The undefeated Buckeyes can clinch the division outright if they beat MSU and if Michigan loses to Penn State Saturday. OSU is favored to win by almost two touchdowns. WDET Detroit Today producer and sports journalist Art Regner says the 9-1 Spartans are not only used to being underdogs, they thrive on it. Click on the audio player above to hear the conversation.

WHO: MSU (9-1) at OSU (10-0).

WHEN: 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

WHERE: Ohio Stadium in Columbus.

WHAT’S AT STAKE: OSU is ranked 3rd in the College Football Playoff rankings. MSU is 9th. The Buckeyes clinch B1G East with win and Michigan loss at Penn State. The Spartans gain a share of 1st place in the division with a win, and would have both tiebreakers in head-to-head games against UM and OSU. A loss eliminates MSU from the conference title race.

ART’S PREDICTION: Ohio State wins 38-27.

PAT’S PREDICTION: OSU, 34-31.
