DIA Announces New Director

The DIA has selected an internal candidate to replace former CEO and President Graham Beal.

The Detroit Institute of Arts has selected a replacement for former president and CEO Graham Beal. The museum’s board of directors has appointed Salvador Salort-Pons to the position. He’s the museum’s current director of collection strategies and information. Salort-Pons also serves as the Elizabeth and Allan Shelden Curator of European Paintings at the DIA. He spoke with WDET’s Marissa Gawel about what he hopes to do in his new role.

Salort-Pons officially begins his new job at the museum on October 15th.
