Has Detroit’s Evolving Restaurant Scene Made the Motor City a Dining Destination?

Are there now enough restaurants in the city for the public and the media to be more critical and discerning in reviews?

WDET’s Travis Wright moderates a panel discussion of food critics about Detroit’s thriving restaurant scene.  Wright is joined on Detroit Today by Michael Jackman, reporter/editorial staff member at the Metro Times, and Molly Abraham, food critic with the Detroit News and Hour Detroit.  Wright, Jackman, and Abraham not only look at the state of Detroit’s restaurant landscape, but they also pull back the curtain on what it takes to be a professional food critic. The panel pulls no punches as they dish the skinny on our local chefs and reveal who’s really to blame for poor service reviews, the wait staff or the diners.
