Robert Kennedy’s Daughter Discusses Her Film ‘The Last Days in Vietnam’

Evocative documentary on the last days in Vietnam

The United States pulled out of Vietnam 40 years ago, last month. As troops withdrew, thousands of South Vietnamese citizens remained under the threat of imprisonment and death. A new documentary featured this week on PBS called “The Last Days in Vietnam” is produced and directed by Rory Kennedy, the youngest daughter of the late Robert and Ethel Kennedy. She tells WDET’s Amy Miller that many people are too young to remember the Vietnam War and part of her drive in producing this Academy Award nominated film is to inspire young people to want to know more about what was then called “The Longest War”
