RTA Looks At Express Bus Service Between Detroit And Metro Airport

Right now, it takes about an hour on a SMART bus. RTA chief hopes to improve on that.

The Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan is looking at establishing a new low-cost bus service connecting downtown Detroit with Metro Airport. There’s a SMART bus between the two now, but the ride can last an hour or more. RTA Chief Executive Officer Michael Ford tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller the region needs faster rides between Metro and the city’s center.
