New Soul Sunday’s Playlist for April 5, 2015

New music from Janelle Monáe, Spring/Summers songs featuring Minnie Riperton

The Easter Sunday edition of New Soul Sunday is all about the new as we’ll get you fit with the latest release from Janelle Monáe, as well as a couple of new releases from independent artist to keep an eye on. We’ll mark the 40th anniversary of Minnie Riperton’s “Lovin’ You” hitting #1 on the US charts by reviewing some of our favorite spring/summer tracks and celebrate Pharrell’s 42nd birthday by checking out a couple of lesser known NERD tracks. All this, plus music from Zo! as we prepare for the Detroiter’s April 11th return concert at the Charles H. Wright museum today at 5pm on 101.9 WDET.
