In a few weeks, the National Transportation Safety Board will issue its final report on the Enbridge oil spill in the Kalamazoo River in 2010. The report will have more than a dozen recommendations for preventing or limiting the damage from future spills. Deborah Hersman chairs the NTSB. She tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller that Enbridge knew about defects in its southwest Michigan pipeline five years before the spill and was slow to respond after it broke.
