According to a new study by the Anderson Group, Michigan’s fifteen public universities are key employers and major economic drivers in the state, rivaling the economic impact of the Big Three auto makers. The universities are responsible for more than 120–thousand jobs and account for roughly 24-billion dollars in economic activity. Michael Boulus is the Executive Director of the President’s Council of State Universities of Michigan. He spoke to WDET’s Martina Guzman about the findings.
