The United Auto Workers opened contract talks with Chrysler today, and will begin negotiations with General Motors and Ford later in the week. The two sides say they hope to have a new agreement in place before the current contract expires in September. WDET’s Pat Batcheller talked to Motor Trend Magazine’s Detroit editor Todd Lassa about the negotiations, which are the first formal contract talks since General Motors and Chrysler emerged from bankruptcy.
