DTE Energy says about 47,000 customers in Metro Detroit woke up Tuesday morning without electricity. The utility is repairing damage caused by severe thunderstorms on Monday. Spokesman Scott Simons says most of the outages should be fixed by Tuesday night. The storms carried wind gusts up to 70 mph, and heavy rains that caused flooding on many area roads and freeways.
If you are experiencing a power loss, you can report it to DTE Energy at 1-800-477-4747. You can also report online at the DTE Energy web site.
You can also find storm reports on the National Weather Service's Detroit/Pontiac web site.
