Low-income families in Metro Detroit can get some free help preparing their taxes this year. Members of the Accounting Aid Society and the Michigan Association of CPAs will volunteer their services at Focus:HOPE starting this Saturday. The program is open to individuals earning $25,000 or less, and families making $50,000 or less. CPA Lorena Bencsik says changes in the tax laws could affect not only what they owe, but any tax credits they might get. Click on the audio link above to hear the conversation.
