Southgate School District to Close Three Schools

Thursday, February 7, 2013

Southgate School's Board of Education voted to close North Pointe and Chormann Elementary schools, as well as Gerisch Middle School as part of a district consolidation. Bill Grusecki is the district's Superintendent. He says the closures will relocate students and reduce staff. More than one-thousand Southgate students are affected by the closures. The consolidation is part of an effort to reduce the district's $3.2 million deficit.
