The Gongwer News Service reports that Governor Rick Snyder has signed the measure that will allow the Republican-led Oakland County Board of Commissioners to re-draw its district map. The new law allows the board to scrap the map that was drawn by a bipartisan county apportionment panel led by Democrats. That map was upheld by the Michigan Court of Appeals. The chairman of the Oakland County Democratic Party says a court challenge will be filed. Frank Houston (HYOO'-sten) calls the signing a "party hack move by this governor."
