Snyder Announces EFM for Detroit, Councilmember Jenkins Reacts

Governor Rick Snyder announced this afternoon that a financial emergency exists in Detroit. As a result, he’ll seek to appoint an Emergency Financial Manager to take control of the city’s finances. Saunteel Jenkins is a member of the Detroit City Council. She tells WDET’s Travis Wright that she wasn’t surprised by Snyder’s announcement. But she says its length and lack of detail left her unsatisfied.
