Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum finished second in the Michigan’s Republican Primary Tuesday night. He says he’s proud of how his campaign performed…given the home field advantage opponent Mitt Romney had as a Michigan native.
“You know we came to the backyard of one of my opponents in a race that everyone said well, just ignore… you have really no chance here… and the people of Michigan looked in the hearts of the candidates and all I can say is… I love you back.”
Santorum’s second place finish won’t hurt him in the delegate count…because Michigan’s primary isn’t a “winner-take-all” contest. The next big battle for the Republican candidates in their bid for the White House comes next Tuesday. Super Tuesday will feature primary elections in ten states including Ohio, Virginia and Massachusetts.
