The Rio+20 Sustainability Conference

Leaders and environmentalists came together last week in Rio de Janeiro for the Rio+20 environmental sustainability conference. The goal of the event was to bring countries together to establish sustainability guidelines. Dr. Richard Smith is an Associate Professor of Social Work at Wayne State University and participated in the conference as part of the Eco-Cities Builders group. He spoke with WDET’s J. Carlisle Larsen about what was agreed upon at Rio+20.
