The holiday shopping season started in earnest Thursday night, with many big stores opening on Thanksgiving to get an early start on "Black Friday". It's called that because that's when retailers are supposed to turn a profit for the year. But is that a myth? And are those "deals" really that good? Michigan Retailers Association Vice President Tom Scott says shoppers will find bargains, but not just on Black Friday. He explained it to WDET's Pat Batcheller.
