On Being
Being is a spacious conversation — and an evolving media space — where big questions help you to explore the center of human life, from the boldest new science of the human brain to the most ancient traditions of the human spirit. |

The National League won its third straight All-Star Game on Tuesday, beating the American League 8-to-nothing at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. Tigers ace Justin Verlander gave up five runs in the first inning, and was charged with the loss for the AL. It was a surprisingly bad performance by last year’s AL Cy Young Award winner and Most Valuable Player. His Tigers teammates, Prince Fielder and Miguel Cabrera, fared no better. Neither got a hit in the Midsummer Classic. WDET’s Pat Batcheller talked about the game with The Grio’s Jason Smith.
